AK225, nPB, TCE, and HFC’s Solvent Replacement

New, Efficient and VOC-Free Solvent for Vapor Degreasing

The U.S. EPA has outlawed the import, sale, and transportation of AK225. The United States is making substantial progress in limiting use and reducing emissions of high global warming potential (GWP) hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently changed the status of HFCs to “unacceptable” for certain uses under its Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP). EPA is also now proposing to ban use of TCE.

Finding an industrial cleaning solvents that works as well and meets the stringent requirements of the U.S. EPA was difficult, but now KYZEN has the solution.  In fact, we think you’ll be glad to see these products go when you discover KYZEN’s VaporDegreasing 20|20 processes, utilizing products such as Metalnox M6920 or Metalnox M6922, as well as Honeywell’s Solstice® PF.

Hydrofluoro-olefin Technology

The new platform of fluorinated solutions – aerosols and solvents – is based on hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO) technology and provides an advanced, VOC-compliant degreasing solution.  KYZEN solvent solutions delivers a very low GWP and is highly effective in a variety of applications and consistently deliver desirable cleaning performance on a wide range of soils including oils, greases, waxes, and other fluids. The combined features of low surface tension, non-flammability, and superior solvency maximize cleaning strength to get the job done.

Green and Clean Solvent Solutions

KYZEN solvents highly effective cleaning solutions are non-flammable, have favorable toxicity properties (PEL of 800 PPM), with a low-global-warming-potential of 1, negligible ozone depletion, do not contribute to ground-level smog, and is not a volatile organic compound (VOC) as determined by the U.S. EPA and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SC AQMD).  Products have low surface tension, and are suitable for electronics, metal, medical, aerospace, defense,  and precision cleaning.

From “vapor only” to immersion, ultrasonics, and turbulation – these innovative formulations meet or exceed almost any process requirements in place today.  KYZEN’s in-house application labs in the United States and around the world, help process engineers by verifying “live manufacturing” results for your specific parts, materials, soils and process prior to any product commitment. This assures manufacturers can meet their quality standards with required environmental compliance, worker safety, and superior technical support.
