This week, our industry lost a dear friend.  Sean McShefferty, a constant source of joy to all who met him lost a 2 year battle with stomach cancer on Sunday October 12, 2008.  Characteristically, Sean was busy taking care of friends, family and customers throughout much of that time.  That was his way, others always came first.  Sean, ever the professional always left a lasting impression and was never forgotten by those who had the joy of meeting him.  Each of us blessed with his friendship were not only lucky to have known him, but have a treasure trove of memories and “Sean stories” to keep part of him with us forever.  Sean’s family kindly shared him with all of us, and of course Sean showed the latest pictures of his wife Val and children Grace and John to everyone he met. 

Friends are invited to gather with the family for a viewing at St Peter's Episcopal Church , 334 14th St, Del Mar, CA (858) 755-1616 from 4 to 8 pm on Sunday October 19th, 2008.  Funeral services will also be at St Peter’s on Monday October 20th, 2008 at 1 pm.

We share their loss and try to follow Sean’s example of putting others first. Grace and John are just beginning their formal education and a fund is being established to help the family provide for that education in the coming years. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends consider a donation to the education fund for Sean’s children which has been established as:
